Throughout January and February, I worked on design for the battery segment design for the 2024 competition car using SOLIDWORKS. This involved mechanical design, consideration of the high current path, and CFD analysis for cooling. This project is currently still in the works, and is not complete.
High voltage / high current PCB design
We have a PCB that controls the high current that flows through the battery box. I worked on many iterations of the layout board using Altium Designer, involving schematic design, layout design, and component selection. I was primarily responsible for the layout/mechanical design. Our battery box is split into 2 sections, which necessitates 2 different PCBs. As a design decision, we chose to create a single PCB that could serve as both, with different components being populated. This added to the design complexity of the project. This project is currently still in the works, and is not complete.

Battery Box Structure Design
To house all the components, I have been designing the main structure for the battery box using SOLIDWORKS. This involves knowledge of material selection for bending and welding, integration with high current electrical components, and FEA analysis. This project is currently still in the works, and is not complete.
